Blood Donation Camp Held in Philippines
Blood Donation Camp that was organized on May 13, 2018 in the city of Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, where a total of 140 units of blood were donated. The event was held in the Walter Mart shopping mall and saw attendance from saints who drove from different cities and regions of the country. The Indian and Filipino communities in and around the city also showed their support by attending the event and donating blood. In addition, the attending saints also managed to attract a good number of mall-going citizens to donate blood by making rounds around the facility and convincing people to donate blood. Members of the Sewadal, including the youngsters, also participated actively. They were holding placards to not only evoke curiosity in peoples' minds with regard to the event, but to attract donors as well.
Saints had worked day and night to prepare for the said event. They had distributed flyers, hung tarpaulins all around the city with the cooperation of the city government, and invited the Philippine Red Cross - Nueva Ecija Chapter, Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research & Medical Centre, and the City Health Office of Gapan, to facilitate during the event. All of these organizations' efforts were acknowledged, and were given certificates of appreciation as a token of gratitude for supporting the event. Local saints made preparations concerning healthy food and drinks, and complementary t-shirts for the donors with the message "blood should flow in veins, not in drains" printed on them.
